New 51" AJ Slick Fantasy Scheme

Our customers love our Andrew Jesky designed AJ Slick! Starting with the original 51" size, the Slick fleet has grown now to include 42", 70", 89", and 126" versions. Because of their popularity, we've come back to the 51" and added a third color scheme. Available for preorder, these will be ready to ship in mid-September.

This fantasy scheme is striking as is, or add your custom decals from ADC Vinyl.

For more info on the 51" Slick check out the RC Groups thread here.

Congrats AJ!!

Congratulations to Andrew Jesky- 2009 National F3A Pattern Champion!

After an amazing amount of dedication and plain old hard work, Andrew took the title this weekend at the Nationals in Muncie, Indiana. Next month, he's headed to Portugal to compete as part of the 2009 United States World Aerobatic Team in the FAI World Championship for Aerobatic Model Aircraft. Well, we just got back from the 2nd annual 3D Hobby Shop Fly-Low-In at the 114th RC Aero Squadron in Grapevine, Texas, and we had a blast!

Pilots came from all over the country- California, Alabama, Colorado, North Carolina, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and even a few from Texas!

We unveiled the latest 3D Hobby Shop design- the 68" Velox!

The fun lasted well into the night, with LED & Glow sticks night fliers...

And the proof that everybody was flying low...

Thanks so much to everyone at the 114th Aero Squadron, for their fantastic field and great hospitality! You can find more photos from the event on their website and on the thread at RC Groups.

The Right Stick

The Right Stick is *the* premiere podcast for remote control enthusiasts! They discuss all things RC- they even featured 3D Hobby Shop a while back!

Their most recent podcast is a great interview with pilot and 3DHS aircraft designer Scott Stoops. And they are also doing a 3DHS giveaway contest- the prize is our 40" Edge 540 ARF! Click here for the RCGroups thread to post your entry.

Joe Nall

So we just get back from SEFF, and now we get to turn right around and head to the Joe Nall Fly-In! We'll be flying to the event, so we won't have any planes with us to sell. Instead, we're offering a special on our 50cc aircraft on the website, from now until May 17th.

This special applies to in stock 87" Extra SHPs and 89" Slicks.

This discount is about 1/2 of the actual shipping cost, so don't miss out!

And speaking of giant scale, we will be taking pre-orders on the 103" Extra SC and the 126" Slick at Nall. Hope to see you there!

SEFF 2009

As always, SEFF was a blast! But I think this year was the best yet- great friends, food and of course, flying!

MLT and Mrs. MLT cooked up a delicious supper for the 3DHS tent city on Friday night.

Scott, Andrew and Josh flew fantastic demos on Friday and Saturday. Andrew debuted the much anticipated 70" Slick- details to follow!

Except for a little rain on Saturday, the weather was perfect. We really enjoyed hanging out with and meeting so many 3DHS fans- what a great group of people! And thanks to everyone who makes SEFF possible- it's a great event, and a LOT of work goes into making it happen.

Can't wait for next year!

Whoa, Toledo!

Well, we made it back from Toledo, safe & sound. Thanks to Weak Signals- you guys really put on a good show. We had a great time, and sold lots of 3D Hobby Shop airplanes!

Scott Stoops' new 103" Extra 330 SC graced our booth in the yellow & blue color scheme. These are available now for preorder on our website.

Scott was on hand to sign copies of his book (we sold out!) He also signed some wings, and I think some 3DHS Addict's forehead...

We unveiled our newest addition to the 3DHS lineup at the show... the 126" AJ Slick! Andrew designed this for the DA170 engine with tuned pipes. Testing is proceeding, beta testing starts soon, and we hope to produce this beast by late Summer.
And now, we set our sights on SEFF '09...

What A Month!

So, February came and went! The 89" Slicks arrived, and only a few yellow ones are left- we've sold out of the red color scheme. If you were still on the fence, I'd grab one now- we won't have more until April, perhaps May. We also have yellow 51" Slicks in stock now to match their big brothers.
